Dedicated pixel art software
SpriteMite is a cross-platform image editor dedicated to creating and editing pixel art images. It is the perfect tool for creating artwork requiring precision at the pixel level.
SpriteMite is great for creating website graphics, icons (favicons) and even retro 8-bit style illustrations.
To install SpriteMite on your computer, simply click the 'Install' button to the right.
Layers
Separate your project into individual layers for better control of your image. Place lines on one layer and color on another. Simply press the 'merge layer' button to combine a layer with it's underlying one. SpriteMite supports a maximum of 20 layers per project.
Stencils
Use stencils to kickstart your project. Stencils are simple shapes which can be drawn to your project when selected. SpriteMite comes with 30 pre-made stencils and you can even create your own!
Swatches
SpriteMite also comes with a swatches pallette for maintaining a list of colours you may wish to access regularly. Swatches are saved to your project so they are persistant between sessions.
